With Thanks:

LARO would like to thank Jerry Fensom and the Atlas team for their warm welcome at LARO’s first CPC Periodic Training event. The day was a resounding success for all concerned and the participating drivers’ are now all on their way to completing their required 35 hours.

About Atlas:

Founded in 1999, Atlas Recovery & Storage Ltd, based in Wembley, is fast becoming one of the most reliable and quickest responding recovery services within London and the Home Counties.
They pride themselves on their ability to provide both an efficient and professional recovery/breakdown service to an ever increasing customer base and boast many accreditations to support their customer’s faith in them as a company.

Atlas has a team of uniformed drivers who carry photographic identification cards and are fully trained in vehicle recovery, breakdown, roadside repairs and assistance. This level of professionalism has assured their customers they are in good hands and has led to a customer basis which includes Insurance Companies, Local Authorities, Car Fleet & Rental Companies, Corporations and Private Individuals all of whom receive the same levels of service.

To ensure this level is maintained Atlas have ensured their drivers are up to date with the latest training possible. This includes the first step to obtaining their 35 hours of CPC Periodic Training which they chose to use LARO for.

What is CPC?

As you are aware it is now law under the EU Directive 2003/59 that all new LGV and PGV drivers must complete the Initial CPC Training to complete their course, receive their licences and ensure they can legally work in the UK and Europe.

All drivers who held their full LGV/PGV licences before this initiative came into force, September 2009, were granted a 5 year grace period in which to complete their 35 hour CPC Periodic Training. As of September 2014 any individual who has not completed their 35 hours CPC Periodic Training, and applied for their Driver Qualification Card, will NOT be legally allowed to work professionally in the UK or Europe.

What is the Point of CPC?

The aim of this directive is to improve the knowledge and skills of professional drivers and ensure this knowledge stays with the individual throughout their career. The information provided throughout the 35 hours will not only benefit the driver and their understanding of their role but ensure a standard throughout the industry.
